Voxel Mahjong privacy policy
Updated on
This is the privacy policy for Voxel Mahjong, a game by Ikan Bilis Studio. The studio is owned by Ikan Bilis.
The short version: the game keeps your settings and your progress on your own device, and sends none of it anywhere.
Where the game stands
- The whole game is free in a web browser, with nothing to pay for.
- Payments are switched off, and nothing is sold.
- The game isn't in any app store yet.
What the game saves on your device
The game saves two things in your browser, and nothing else. It saves no name, email address, account, device ID, location or cookie.
- Your settings, in the browser's local storage: language, tile style and labels, speed, theme, colour-blind palette, drama level, reduce flashing, sound and volumes, chatter, retro filter, graphics level and timer.
- Your learning progress, in the browser's own database (IndexedDB): that the welcome is done, the experience level you picked, your recent puzzle answers and practice results for each stage with their times, which tours you have been shown, and a count of free matches played.
All of it stays on your device. If your browser blocks storage, the game still runs, and nothing is kept after you close it.
Deleting it: there is no delete button in the game today. To delete what the game has saved, clear the site data for the game's address in your browser's settings.
What the game sends
Nothing about you or your play leaves your device. The game has no accounts, no analytics and no crash reports, and it makes no calls to outside services. While it runs, the only things it asks for are its own voice clips, from the game's own address. The computer players run on your device.
What the game loads from other companies
Nothing. The fonts, scripts, styles and audio all come from the game's own address.
The web host
The web game runs on a web hosting service. Like any web host, it receives the ordinary request for each file the game needs, and that request includes your device's internet address (IP address). These requests may be handled outside your own country.
The game's code carries no package, script or setting for analytics or visitor statistics.
Payments
Payments are switched off, and nothing is sold in the game. The plan is one clear, one-time unlock through an app store. After a successful unlock, the game will save one more record on your device: that you own the game, the unlock's code, which store it came from and the time. That record is never written today. Before payments are switched on, this policy will say which store handles the payment and what, if anything, the game learns from it.
Children
The game asks no one for personal information, whatever their age.
Voxel Mahjong is made for players aged 13 and over, and isn't aimed at children under 13.
